Josh Jacobs and the Raiders have a new deal in place that will end his holdout.
The star running back has come to an agreement with Las Vegas on a one-year deal worth up to $12 million, NFL Network reported on Saturday, adding that the deal will include up to $200,000 in incentives.
Later in the day, Jacobs took to social media to say, “I’m back,”
The 25-year-old Jacobs would have received $10.1 million this season if he had signed the franchise tag tender.
His deal appears similar to the one fellow running back Saquon Barkley agreed to late last month to stay with the Giants.
Jacobs and his agent Chad Wiestling have been in Las Vegas the past few days to get the deal done, and the contract will officially be signed on Sunday, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Jacobs, who last season led the NFL in rushing, had been expected to sign with the Raiders rather than sit out the season and forfeit his salary, but his prolonged absence began to raise questions that finally were answered.

“I’ll say the same thing I’ve said for months. I love the player, and I love the person,” coach Josh McDaniels said after the Raiders’ 31-16 preseason loss at the Dallas Cowboys later that night.
“I look forward to just acclimating him into our group,” McDaniels said. “There’s some new faces that he hasn’t quite met yet, and I know he’s eager to do that as well. Meant a lot to our team last year, is going to mean a lot to our team this year.”
Jacobs, who held out and missed all of training camp, originally sought a long-term deal this offseason, but could not come to an agreement before a July deadline with the Raiders — which had only offered a one-year, $10.1 million franchise tender.
In response to the NFL posting news of the new contract, Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby responded, “YESSSSSSIRRRRRR,” with a fire emoji.
Jacobs, the 24th overall pick in the 2019 draft, has put up gaudy numbers since he entered the league, rushing for at least 1,000 yards in three of his four seasons with the Raiders.
He took the NFL by storm in 2022, rushing for 1,653 yards while also finishing with a league-best 2,053 yards from scrimmage.
A two-time Pro Bowler and one-time All-Pro selection, Jacobs has averaged 79 yards per game and totaled 40 rushing touchdowns over four years.
